Terms of use

These terms form a binding agreement between you and mapfAI. They govern your access to and use of mapf, and set out your rights and obligations, and ours. Please read them carefully. By using mapf, you agree to them.

The short version

01About these terms

mapf is provided by mapfAI (“mapfAI,” “we,” “us,” “our”). These terms of use (the “Terms”) apply to the mapf websites, including mapf.ai, the mapf apps, our connectors, interfaces and integrations for AI assistants and agents, and any other product, feature, content or service we offer under the mapf name (together, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a business or other organisation, you agree to these Terms on its behalf and represent that you have authority to do so, and “you” includes that organisation.

Some features are subject to additional terms, policies or guidelines that we present when you use them, such as plan details, usage limits or the connector guide (“Additional Terms”). Additional Terms form part of these Terms and prevail over them to the extent of any conflict. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information; it is not part of these Terms, but please read it.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, to use the Service. Some features, including paid services and business accounts, require you to have reached the age of majority. You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law, or if we have previously suspended or terminated your access.

03Your account

04The service

The Service helps you discover places and what is happening in the cities it covers. We are constantly changing and improving it. We may add, change, limit or remove features, coverage, content, access tiers or usage limits at any time, and we may make some features available only to signed-in users, paid subscribers or certain regions.

Features labelled as preview, beta, early access or experimental are provided as they are, may change or be withdrawn without notice, and are excluded from any commitment in these Terms. We do not guarantee that the Service, or any part of it, will always be available or that it will be available in your location.

We may send you service-related communications, such as sign-in codes, security notices and messages about your account or purchases. These are part of the Service, and you agree to receive them electronically.

05Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes (or, for business accounts, for the purposes the relevant plan provides), in compliance with these Terms and applicable law. You agree not to, and not to help, encourage or allow anyone else to:

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to security@mapf.ai and do not test it further. We welcome good-faith reports.

06Protecting the service and its data

The places, scores, rankings, maps and other information available through the Service, and the way they are selected, compiled, arranged and presented, are the result of substantial investment by mapfAI. To protect them, you may not, directly or indirectly, and whether manually or by automated means:

Sharing a link to an individual place or page for personal purposes is permitted and welcome. Public search engines and AI assistants may crawl the public pages we make available for that purpose, in accordance with our robots.txt, solely to index them and to cite and link to them, and not to copy or reproduce their content in bulk. Any other use requires our prior written permission; write to partners@mapf.ai to ask about licensing.

We may monitor use of the Service for compliance with these Terms. We may block, throttle, suspend or terminate any access that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms, whether it comes from an account, a device, a network, an assistant, an agent or a payment method, with or without notice. We may also pursue any other remedy available to us, including injunctive relief and damages.

07Our rights

The Service, including its software, data, databases, content, scores, rankings, designs, text, graphics, and the selection, arrangement and compilation of all of them, and the mapf name, logos and other brand features, are owned by mapfAI or its licensors and are protected by copyright, database, trade mark, trade secret and other laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purposes. These Terms do not grant you any other right, title or interest in the Service or its content. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by mapfAI and its licensors.

Certain content on the Service, such as map data, venue names, logos and information published by third parties, and the artwork we feature, belongs to its respective owners and may be subject to their own terms. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in that content.

If you send us feedback, ideas or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable right to use them for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you.

08Your content

The Service may let you submit content, such as photos, text, corrections, reports, venue information and other material (“Your Content”). You retain any ownership rights you have in Your Content.

By submitting Your Content, you grant mapfAI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, use, reproduce, modify (for example, to resize, crop, re-encode or remove metadata), create derivative works of, publicly display, publish and distribute Your Content, in any media, for the purposes of operating, providing, promoting, developing and improving the Service. This licence continues for as long as Your Content is on the Service and for a reasonable period afterwards, including in backups, and survives for any Your Content that has already been shared or incorporated in aggregated or de-identified form. To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights in Your Content as against mapfAI and those acting with our permission.

You represent and warrant that:

Some of Your Content, such as photos of places, is shown publicly. We are not obliged to host, display or review Your Content, and we may screen, edit, decline or remove it at any time and for any reason, including where we believe it breaches these Terms.

09Copyright and IP complaints

We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, write to legal@mapf.ai with:

We may remove or disable access to content in response, and may notify the person who provided it. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. We may terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. Nothing in this section waives any defence, immunity or safe harbour available to us.

10AI features

The Service uses artificial intelligence and automated systems, for example to interpret requests, rank and recommend places, and generate summaries, plans and answers (“AI Features”). Responses produced by AI Features are generated automatically, may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or inappropriate, and may not reflect our views. They are not professional advice, and you should verify anything important before relying on it.

You are responsible for what you ask AI Features and how you use their output. You may not use AI Features to generate content that breaches these Terms, or attempt to manipulate, bypass or extract the instructions, safeguards or underlying systems of AI Features.

11Information on mapf

Scores, rankings, opening hours, events, prices and other information on the Service are estimates and indicators derived from many sources and methods. They are provided for general guidance only, may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and can change without notice. Always confirm details with the venue or organiser before you set out.

The Service does not provide professional, safety, health, legal, financial or travel advice, and does not endorse, recommend or guarantee any venue, event, business, product or service. You are solely responsible for your decisions, your conduct and your safety when visiting any place or attending any event, including compliance with local laws and age restrictions.

12Third parties and partners

The Service may include links to, content from, or integrations with websites, venues, booking partners, payment providers, AI assistants and other services that we do not own or control. Your dealings with them, including any purchase or booking, are solely between you and them and are governed by their terms and policies. We are not responsible for, and do not endorse, any third-party service, content, product or practice.

Some links on the Service are affiliate or partner links, and we may receive a commission or other benefit when you use them. This does not affect what you pay.

The Service may display third-party pages within mapf for your convenience. Those pages remain the responsibility of their operators.

13Venues and business accounts

If you claim, manage or subscribe on behalf of a venue or business, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to act for it, that the information you provide is accurate and lawful, and that you have all rights needed in any content you provide for it. We may verify your claim by any reasonable means, and may decline, suspend or revoke a claim or business account at our discretion.

Claiming a venue or purchasing a business plan does not give you control over how the venue is scored, ranked or described on the Service, except for the features your plan expressly provides. We remain responsible for, and may change, the information we show about any place.

Subscriptions

Certain features require a paid subscription or other purchase (“Paid Services”). The price, billing period and features of a Paid Service are shown before you purchase. By purchasing, you authorise us and our payment providers to charge your chosen payment method for the price and any applicable taxes.

Pay-per-use and digital-asset payments

Some interfaces may accept payment per request, including in supported digital assets over supported networks and protocols. Each payment is for the specific request it covers and is final once settled. Transactions on public networks are irreversible and publicly recorded. You are responsible for your wallet, its keys, the accuracy of each transaction and any network fees. We do not hold or custody your assets.

Consumer rights

If you are a consumer in a country that gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase within a certain period, you may have that right. Where the law allows, you agree that a Paid Service begins immediately on purchase and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once it has begun. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund right that applicable consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

15AI assistants, agents and developers

16Mobile apps and app stores

If you download a mapf app from a third-party app store, the app store’s terms also apply. These Terms are between you and mapfAI only, not the app store provider, and mapfAI, not the app store provider, is responsible for the app. The app store provider has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app store provider has no warranty obligation for the app, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or claims that it infringes a third party’s intellectual property. The app store provider and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you. We may release updates to the app, and some updates may be required to keep using it.

17Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all content and information made available through it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties, conditions or representations of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness and quiet enjoyment, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, free of errors, viruses or other harmful components, or that defects will be corrected, or that any information, score, ranking, recommendation or response is accurate, reliable or current. Your use of the Service, and any reliance on it, is at your own risk.

18Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mapfAI and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, partners, officers, directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, use or opportunity, or for personal injury or property damage arising from your visit to any venue or event, in each case arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50.

These limitations apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they are a fundamental part of the basis of the bargain between you and us. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you keep any statutory rights that cannot be waived, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

19Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless mapfAI and its affiliates, licensors, officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: your use of the Service; Your Content; your breach of these Terms or of any law; or your violation of any right of a third party. If you are a consumer, this section applies only to the extent the law of your country allows.

20Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may delete your account from your account settings. Deleting your account also cancels any subscription billed to it, without a refund for the current billing period except where the law requires one.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, or delete your account, at any time, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if required by law, to protect the Service, our users or others, or if we discontinue the Service or part of it. Where reasonable, we will give you notice. Except where required by law, we are not liable to you for any suspension or termination.

Any provision of these Terms that by its nature should survive termination will survive, including those on our rights, Your Content licence, protection of the Service, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution and governing law.

21Resolving disputes

Contact us first. Before bringing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@mapf.ai with a description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and to try in good faith to resolve it with us for at least 60 days.

Arbitration. To the extent permitted by law, any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including their existence, validity, interpretation, performance, breach or termination, that is not resolved informally will be finally resolved by binding arbitration, seated in the place where mapfAI is established and administered by a recognised arbitral institution there under its rules then in force, before a single arbitrator, in English. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

No class actions. To the extent permitted by law, you and mapfAI each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court of competent jurisdiction, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property, confidential information, or the Service and its data.

Opting out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@mapf.ai within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name, the email address associated with your account (if any) and that you opt out. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Consumers. If you are a consumer and the mandatory laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or to use another dispute-resolution process, nothing in this section limits that right.

22Governing law

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service, are governed by the laws that apply where mapfAI is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Resolving disputes, the courts of that place have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

23Export controls and sanctions

You represent that you are not located in, organised in or ordinarily resident in a country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions, and that you are not, and are not owned or controlled by or acting for, a person subject to sanctions or export restrictions. You will comply with all applicable export control, sanctions, anti-money-laundering and anti-corruption laws when using the Service. We may refuse, suspend or terminate access on any of these grounds.

24Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service or to the law. We will post the modified Terms here with a new effective date and, if a change is material, we will give you reasonable advance notice by appropriate means. Changes required by law, or that address new features or security, may take effect immediately. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you agree to the modified Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any Paid Services.
